Organization and Structure
The Component of Evangelism for the Second Episcopal District is organized and composed of five conference directors of evangelism each from all five Annual Conferences of our District. These include the Baltimore, Washington, Virginia, North Carolina and Western North Carolina conferences. Also per five conferences we have included a young adult representative from each to help us better strategically plan in reaching the growing missing population of young adults in many congregations between the ages 18-40. Therefore, all generations young and old are coming together in our evangelistic, church growth and development efforts.
We are also working in direct collaboration with our AMEC global Department of Church Growth and Development/Evangelism with our General Officer and Executive Director, Rev. Dr. James Wade. Via this resource as the Second Episcopal District we will remain intact and in sync with our global Church, all current updates, resources, methodologies of evangelism, new developments and receive exposure second to none.
The ultimate goal for our Episcopal District: "NO CHURCH LEFT BEHIND!" We are praying, fasting, implementing and working to make sure that every church in the Second Episcopal District will be able to receive resources, training and exposure to strengthen the life of every congregation .
In the Second Episcopal District there are basically three demographic categories of churches. These are urban, sub-urban and rural. In terms of pursuing evangelism because people, culture, mind sets, available resources and circumstances differ from congregation to congregation, city to city and region to region, “one size does not necessarily fit all.” While there is a commonality that exist among all of us some evangelism tools that may work for one congregation may not work for another because of varying demographic needs and circumstances. However, through evangelism training all congregations regardless of circumstances will be empowered in evangelistic efforts at levels easily accessible and appreciated.
The following information gives a detailed listing of the structure and organization of the Second Episcopal District Evangelism Component. Contact information for each director can be found on the Contact link of this website.
